NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR PROPOSED RESOLUTION

The Elk Community Services District is seeking public comment on a proposed resolution regarding charges for "Fire & Rescue" incidents involving negligence.

The District Fee Ordinance (link) Section 4(b) allows for cost recovery of Fire and Rescue Services for "incidents resulting from negligence."

The proposed Draft Resolution (link) intends to clarify what negligence means, and the duty all of our community members have to maintain their property and operations in a fire-safe manner.

Public Comments

The District Board of Directors is seeking public input on this resolution. The comment period opens July 8, 2024 and will end August 8, 2024.

Come tell us in person at the next District Board of Directors Meeting. Public comments regarding the proposed resolution will be heard at the meetings held July 11 and August 8 - 7pm in the Elk Volunteer Fire Department Office.
